I DON'T GET IT
People are actually admitting in blogs and forums all over cyberspace
that the performance of a frumpy woman on the show Britian's Got Talent
has reduced them to tears.
The staged, sophomoric attempt to make her seem like the underdog being
ridiculed by judges and the audience and how 'she showed them' didn't
fly in this camp. Just made me reminisce about propaganda attempts by
governments during World War 2 and how people can be swayed with the
proper equation.

I did catch a comment on one of the blogs where someone pointed out the
underlying appeal to this phenomena...

I heard her and she does have a beautiful voice but I think alot of people are patronizing her because lets face it, she’s ugly, so they’re falling all over themselves about her to show everyone what “good” people they are, all those people who cried? you would not have cried if she was beautiful, you would probably be saying, well, I’ve heard better so just shut up! -
I admire those who can see people's true motives. I really do.
She has a pretty voice, but so do lots of homely people.

Totally agree. Before I saw the clip I read all the fuss about it and was expecting something phenomenal. Eh, it was alright. Yeah, she has a nice voice but it didn't give me chills or make me sob. And I'm someone that usually gets a little misty eyed when someone does a good job.
